The First Step The first step for those wanting to learn what it is all about is to attend a 'try dive' session on a Wednesday evening during our regular pool training session. The "try dive" would be taken by one of our qualified and experienced instructors. He or she will first of all give you a briefing about the basic scuba equipment and how to assemble it, then take you into the pool to show you how to use the equipment and move about under water. We will provide all the equipment - all you would need to bring is a swimming costume and a T-shirt or similar and a fee of £5 to cover expenses. At the pub afterwards, we would explain all you need to know about the club, the training and the equipment, and answer any questions you might have.
Try dives can be arranged for people who are new to the sport and want to find out what it is all about. Why not come along for a chat on a club night (Thursdays), meet some of the members and see what we have to offer?
Each try-dive is about 1 hour in duration, including poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment. This is followed by a scuba dive in the pool with BSAC qualified instructors to make sure you get maximum enjoyment from your first scuba dive.
For further information or to book a try dive, please contact our club secretary whose details are on the contact page or email us.
